Linguistic history shows us that most of the people of Europe, Iran & India share a common ancient language known today as Proto-Indo-European. This Mother of Mother-tongues of many Nation-states of today often gets forgotten as our common linguistic ancestor, in a world focused on scientific facts like genome data & carbon-dated sculptures/objects. But the Spoken word (Language) and the Written word (Scripts) don’t always move together & therefore written evidence of scripts on dates objects/sculptures doesn’t necessarily mean that it was the most spoken language of the geography, the object was found in. Also, as the disappearance of Pali language from India & its popularity in modern Theravada South-East Asian nations shows, languages can hardly be identified by race/types of people.
Other than the languages of Indo-European language families, many other linguistic families exist in our world. These include Sino-Tibetan languages, Niger-Congo languages, Austronesian languages, Afroasiatic languages, Dravidian languages, Turkic languages, Japonic languages and many more.
